How To Win Big on the Melbourne Cup.

How I Picked The Winner and Trifecta In The Melbourne Cup Last Year.

Firstly for people who don't usually bet on race horses. The trifecta in a horse race is picking the first three horses to pass the finish line in the horse race. You can pick them in order or you can pick many horses and take a box trifecta. If unsure ask a friend who regularly bets on horses to help you put it on.

Trifecta's usually pay big in the Melbourne Cup as there are 24 horses running and millions of dollars in the prize pool.

How I did it last year. If you look at the fields of horse races online at or in your daily newspaper.

The horses have ratings 1 to 100 . The best horses have the best ratings. Even though there are 24 horses in the big Melbourne Cup race. Only a small number of horses are rated over 80. It's vey unlikely a horse rated under 80 will win the race. Se eliminate all the horses rated under 80.

Now you have a lot less horses to consider.

Now I use some astrology. The Sun Is In Scorpio and The Moon is in Gemini on Cup Day. The Lucky numbers are 5 and 8 and the lucky colours are Cerise (a lot like pink) and Grey.

For more information see
For Astrology lucky names see

Now apply this to the remaining horses.
Make a list of the horses left after you eliminate those as above; Then see if any of the horses left have lucky number combinations or names or colours.

Make 3 columns on a sheet of paper. One lucky names. Two Lucky Colours. Three lucky number combinations;

Write the list of name and numbers of horses that are rated over 80. See my list below.

I am using the TAB ratings but some newspapers may also show ratings.
The Sun is always in Scorpio on cup day. Find where the moon is each year here:

Sun Scorpio Ruler Scorpio is Pluto Numbers 5 and 8 Scorpio colour is cerise. Co ruler of
Scorpio is Mars Numbers 4 -7 . Moon in Gemini Colour Grey Number 5

My analysis of number 13 in the Melbourne Cup

13 SURPRISE BABY (7) Mercury rules Gemini and Mercury rules youths . This horse carries cerise and grey colours and has a top jockey. At $9.00 a Win and $3.00 a place I think would be a good horse for quinellas or to put in the box trifecta.

To box 7 Horses in the Quinella (where you must pick the first 2 horses past the post the winner and second horse) costs $21.00 and I'm sure the quinella dividend will well exceed this regardless of price of horses.

To Box 7 Horses in the Trifecta for $1.00 bet Costs $210.00 to get full 100% But you can use 50 cent unit to box 7 for $105.00

See my example of Melbourne Cup TAB dividends below!

Note To Help You More -  Make a second List Of The Horses Prize Money Earned

Horses Rated Over 80 in Melbourne Cup Field

No11 FINCHE (6)

No 21 TIGER MOTH (23)

Horses By Prize Money Won May Also Help.

It's unlikely a horse with Under 1 million in prize money will win!

ANTHONY VAN DYCK Prize Money$4,090,099

Also Note Ratings are not always a good indicator as Last Years Winner VOW AND DECLARE  Has earned  Prize Money$5,875,930 but is only rated 68  (How Can That Be?)
